The making of Luxury Carpet Production 100% silk carpets and rugs are in many different weights and pile heights and can be made in any colour, any size, any design.  We only use the very best silk, that is a natural protein fibre which we use to make luxury bespoke carpets and rugs.  The fibre silk is composed of fibrin and produced by a special insect silkworm moth caterpillar larvae to form cocoons. These cocoons are either white or orange, from the larvae of the mulberry tree silkworm Bombyx mori these are reared in captivity. The shimmering soft tremulous of light appearance of the silk is due to the triangular prism like structure of the silk insert fibre, this allows our silk bespoke carpet and rugs yarn to refract incoming light at different angles, producing different tone of colour. Due to the yarn being very slippery we use a special adhesive to hold and retain the silk yarn in the backing, some thing you must be aware of when purchasing a Silk carpet or rug.

We also use silk with wool, inserting parts of a design in silk, the carpet or rug mainly wool but to high light parts of the design we use silk, adding a shimmer therefore your carpet or rug can have a percentage like 15% silk (our lowest amount) 85% wool or 25% silk and 75% wool and so on, it depends on how much silk you want to add or the design determines the amount making your special bespoke carpet or rug unique.
