Textures & Carving Details
The beauty with Bespoke Hand-Tufted Carpet and Rugs is that you can have a multiple amount of chose in what type of finish, below are just some selection of different types of recessing low levels, embossing, beveling, beading which can be used in combination using cut and loop pile yarn.
There are many ways to mark and decorate between color and a single color with a cut or a series of cuts know as carving, these below are a few basic types, based on a 10-11 millimeter pile height. Skillful artisans carry out the carving by hand. Recessing is weaved in different levels then beveled if required. You can combine all the different carvings to create a unique effect, contact us for further details.
Code NC - no carving = Flat surface with no carving the yarn is separated and defined between the colours of the design.
Code LHC - light hairline = This finish gives a very slight cut which is made between the different colours of the design.
Code NHL - normal hairline = More of a refine cut but made deeper and a bit wider, this carving is still slight and is popular when you want the design to stand out more but do not want a heavy carve look.
Code VC - v carving = When you want to see more carving a wide deep V carving is used mainly on the outside defining lines of the images, the inner details which are closer would have LHC type of carve.
Code VBC - v bevel carving = This type is the same as VC but the top of the V is round off so not to have a shape edge, used to give a sort of three dimensional effect and give extra character to parts of the design.
Code WVB - wide v bevel carving = Some designs need extra feel so a wider shear is used this carving type can be used on one side, made longer of a defining line of the design or on both sides dependent of the impression and feel required.
Code EB - embossed = Depending if loop or cut on each levels, will depend on the method of production as like DBR could be carried out in two stages, also like wise the type of carving if the design required it on the cut pile.
Code BC - bead carving = Beads are mainly used carved on border, center pieces and lines, can also be used any where specially as a circles or random pebbles or lozenges.
Code DR - deep recessed = This finished is not carved but carried out in two processes, first the lower level is tufted, yarn anchored with adhesive then finished sheared, the same process is then carried out to the to make the upper level. When the texture is cut and loop on the lower level then all the tufting, finishing is carried out at the same time.
Code SR - swallow recessed = Also like above this finishing texture is not carved but carried using the same method as DR tufting in two stages, usually when using silk making it to higher level.
Code DBR - deep bevel recessed = This finished is carried out in two processes, first the lower level is tufted, yarn anchored with adhesive then finished sheared if cut, the same process is then carried out to the to making of the upper level, when there is loop to be on the lower level then the tufting, finishing is done together. When the texture is cut on the upper level the yarn can be carved as a bevel or as a bead if the design required.
Code SBR - swallow bevel recessed = This texture also is processed in two parts, first the lower level is tufted, yarn anchored with adhesive then finished sheared if cut, the same process is then carried out to the to making of the upper level, when there is loop to be on the lower level then the tufting, finishing is done together. When the texture is cut on the upper level the yarn can be carved as a bevel or as a bead if the design requires it.
